And the beat goes on

After losing the libel case and facing a costs order of £70k, Chris McGrath decided to make an application for leave to appeal (such as his right).

This was denied (last week) on paper but he reserved the right to request an oral hearing to present his case. Today, I was informed that Mr McGrath was granted an audience and this will take place on the 8th November 2012 at the RCJ in London.

  1. I get the impression an oral hearing is usually granted when requested and it is not because the case has any merit - but I suspect you probably know that.

Anyay - I'd say that the chances of Scrooby being granted an appeal is unlikely. The chances of winning the right to appeal and then proceeding to win that would be about the same as a camel passing through the eye of a needle and then limbo dancing backwards unerneath a hair folicle whilst reciting Shakespeare's Othello.

No legal advice intended but I suspect even your lawyer would rate his chances in those terms.

The mounting costs are a concern to all - including the taxpayer who no doubt is subsidising the continuing nonsense.

    1. A brilliant answer to my question "Describe Scrooby in one word?"

  3. I've always been interested in how the mind works and I'm quite knowledgeable when it comes to the function of the brain but Scrooby is somewhat of an enigma.
